The first participants of the project “Amikaro” in My Virtual Ensemble are standing by to record their parts, so it’s time to put more thoughts into the instrumentation of the piece. I did this yesterday and came up with some interesting ideas like sudden change in instrumentation or using unexpected instruments for some parts. Getting an overview made me realise, that I have hardly any brass yet, so that is something I will target in the next days, since the climax of Amikaro definately needs some brass swells and the dramatic letter C should at least be supported by a bass trombone. But I am confident and very much looking forward to getting the first recordings.
